Seven departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives have recently jointly issued the ''Work Plan for Stable Growth of the Petrochemical and Chemical Industrils'', proposing 2023-In 2024, the main goal of the steady growth of the petrochemical industry is: the industry maintains steady growth, with an average annual industrial added value growth rate of about 5%. In 2024, the main business income of the petrochemical and chemical industry (excluding oil and gas extraction) will reach 15 trillion yuan, the output of ethylene will exceed 50 million tons, and the output of chemical fertilizer (net amount) will be stable at about 55 million tons.
