Common Maintenance Methods for Leakage of Heat Exchanger in Sulfuric Acid Plant

For heat exchangers with different structures and different leakage points, the common maintenance methods are as follows4species.

(1) Bypass method. For the few leaking serpentine finned tube heat exchange tubes that have been found, first measure the thickness of the adjacent heat exchange tube wall to ensure that its thickness meets the use requirements, and then discard the leaking heat exchange tube and bypass the adjacent heat exchange tube to make its tube flow. This method has the lowest cost, is not difficult to implement, and will not affect the heat exchange capacity of the entire system. It can quickly and effectively solve the leakage problem in the production process and achieve the ideal maintenance effect (Figure2)。

(2) Plugging method. Heat exchange tube heat exchanger,UDuring the overhaul of the shaped tube heat exchanger, the two ends of the tubes that have been found to leak are blocked with plugs to prevent heat exchange and avoid gas blow-. This method has low cost, little difficulty in implementation, and will not affect the heat exchange capacity of the whole system. It can quickly and effectively solve the problem of blow-by gas leakage in the production process and achieve the ideal maintenance effect (Figure3

(3)Heat exchange tube internal take-over method. For the heat exchanger tubes with long heat exchange tubes and leakage points close to the tube orifice, less internal blow-by influence and a small amount of leakage, the same material pipes with a certain thickness and strength with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the leaking heat exchange tubes shall be pressed into the leaking heat exchanger tubes with jacks to seal the leakage points of the tubes.

(4)replacement method. For the leakage problem is more serious, can not be solved by repair and other methods to solve the heat exchanger, usually use the replacement method. Through the replacement method of heat exchanger leakage detection, the leakage problem can be solved and the normal operation and stability of the production line can be guaranteed. The cost of replacing the heat exchanger is relatively high, and factors such as economy and feasibility need to be considered. Therefore, sufficient testing and evaluation are required before the replacement operation to determine whether the replacement is necessary.
