Electric mist eliminator, also known as wet electrostatic mist eliminator, is a key equipment in the gas purification section, in the industrial field has been nearly 100 years of application history. Electric mist eliminator is generally vertical structure, mainly by the corona electrode (cathode) device, precipitation electrode (anode) device, the upper and lower gas chamber and power supply system. Its working principle is: through the electrostatic control device and the DC high voltage generating device, the alternating current is changed into direct current and sent to the defogging device, and a strong electric field is formed between the corona wire (cathode) and the acid mist trapping plate (anode), so that the air molecules are ionized and a large number of electrons, positive and negative ions are instantly generated. These electrons and ions make directional movement under the action of the electric field force, forming the medium for trapping of acid mist. At the same time, the acid mist particles are charged, and these charged acid mist particles are directed to move under the action of electric field force and reach the anode plate on which the acid mist is trapped. After that, the charged particles release electrons on the polar plate, so the acid mist is gathered and flows into the acid storage tank of the acid mist remover under the action of gravity, thus achieving the purpose of purifying the acid mist.

At present, the electric defogger used by domestic sulfuric acid manufacturers can be divided into tube type, plate type and honeycomb type according to the shape of the precipitation pole. According to the material of the precipitation pole, it can be divided into lead electrostatic defogger, plastic electrostatic defogger and glass fiber reinforced plastic electrostatic defogger. 3species. Because the plastic electric defogger is conductive by liquid film, the effective precipitation area changes greatly, the operating voltage and current are low, and the effect is not as good as the latter two. In recent years, lead anode tube plate has been replaced by conductive glass fiber reinforced plastic, which has the advantages of light weight, low price and outstanding comprehensive performance. There are also many kinds of materials for the cathode corona wire of the demister, such as nickel-chromium steel wire coated with lead, titanium palladium alloy wire, titanium wire, etc.
When the electric defogger works, an uneven electric field is generated between the yin and yang poles, so both poles need to be conductive. Generally, the electrostatic defogger of non-metallic materials such as glass fiber reinforced plastic or polyvinyl chloride adopts the method of conducting electricity by means of liquid film. It is also a conductive glass fiber reinforced plastic mixed and pressed by glass fiber reinforced plastic and graphite, or a layer of carbon fiber mat is added to the inner layer of glass fiber reinforced plastic anode to solve the conductive problem.
