The waste acid cracking air preheater comprises a base on which a lower pipe box, a cylindrical shell and an upper pipe box are installed. The cylindrical shell is a double-layer shell formed by sealing connection of the outer shell and the inner shell. The outer shell and the inner shell are made of low alloy steel, and gaps are left between them to form a detection cavity. The lower pipe box, the upper pipe box and the outer shell are connected with a sulfur dioxide leakage alarm through pipelines, the pipe communicates with the inner cavity of the lower pipe box, the inner cavity of the upper pipe box, and the detection cavity of the cylindrical shell.
